my indy donor was a 1.6 pinto sierra so they built it with rear drums which i hate the look of, what have i got to do to have discs on the rear,someone told me i might have to change to a lsd and the shafts etc,is there an easier way, a conversion kit? or is it better to do the lot and get an lsd too?

you can get some adapter plates to fit calipers and discs, mnr and gts amongst others can supply them iirc.

you could fit an lsd rear end, the difference being the type of joints on th edriveshafts and hence dif and hubs on disc braked and drum braked cars.

you'd gain a healthy overdraft. it's horses for courses if one came up at a sensible price i'd fit one. a complete disc braked sierra rear end complete with beam (it's the easiest way to remove them at a breakers costs me £50) whether you gain anything by fitting an LSD I'll leave to everyone else, I use my Indyblade for trackdays it goes well enough on a std diff so i'm happy

Friend of mine is building a fisher fury.

He used a drum braked back end, took all that off, fitted adapter brackets and Audi 80 discs turned down in the lathe to fit under the 13" wheels. Light alloy calipers as well.

sorted, converted to disc for 120.00 quid,thats with reconditioned calipers second hand discs and 20 quid plate off ebay
