R1 with no spark!
hearnia - 22/3/06 at 09:31 PM

So... its come to the time where I throw the switch and the whole car springs to life but...no.

Although the engine turns over fine, I can get no spark. Even chucking the meter in there brings up nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do to trace the fault, I dont really want to gut the wiring again but if needs must I will do.

The side stand switch and stop switch are shorted together.

Thanks in advance
Joe

Have you had a search and looked through all the other "cant start my R1" threads on here because there's loads of good advice and things to check in those?

Both black wires from the ECU should be connected to ground. Buzz them out with your multimeter to check.

See, I told you all that you're better off extending the R1 loom rather than chopping out the bits you don't want! I'm always right, so there!!! MWAH HA HA HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
