BEC Idle

Gents:

What is the typical idle RMP of a BEC--or more specifcally, the 'blade?

on cold start up i turn it up a little, maybe to 2k. Obviously its going to be a lumpy idle with no flywheel! You can turn it down again once warm, but i dont bother, id rather it idle high (afterall, its not idling much when being driven) and be a little harder to stall. Cant say for blade though.

Idle on the Blade should be 1,100 rpm (Plus or minus 100)

Should be about 1100, but mine wouldn't tickover at that until I balanced the carbs.

1100 give or take 100 rpm.

BTW, did the rectifier wiring work ok???

Rich.

Hi Shortie:

I didn't want to jinx myself yesterday...Yep, the rectifier wiring worked--seemingly--perfectly! I drove the car on and off for two hours yesterday, and each time, it started fine. I did use a new battery, but I have a hard time believing that a little battery can supply spark for that long. I also noticed that I can acually tough the rectifier without getting burned. The old blade bit was very, very hot.

I cannot thank you enough for your help on that one!
