R1 Air Filter

Hiya

I'm fitting R1 carbs to my Pinto and need to find an air filter.

I assume I can't just buy a K&N like I would for a car? So what are my options?

a blank backplate and a sausage filter would be the easiest, either from ITG or Pipercross

Id think this thread will help identify the exact part numbers

Hi Andy
here's one possible solution for R1 carbs
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php?action=showphoto&photo=filtback.jpg
I turned the carb input diecasting on my lathe to make it a bit more "trumpety" & screwed on the sausage filter backplate.
BTW those screws do NOT want to come out....
cheers
Bob

Bob - are you not worried about those cross heads vibrating loose and dropping down the trumpets ?

Yo Jim,
They originally used the loctite from hades - (what I mant about them being evil to remove) when I've found some rubbery stuff for the back of the plate I'll do likewise!
cheers
