tjis is the header tank i've got, does this need to be higher than the engine or is this just a myth i've been told? also where would be the best place to put it in the r1 system?

Mine is mounted on the bulk head, so is easy to to up etc. It also sits higher than the engine, but don't know if this is a must.

I'm sure there's a diagram some where on here that some one posted, but my top hose to the engine has a T in it which goes to the to small connector at the top of the header tank. The connector at the bottom of the header tank goes to a T in the bottom hose........ I think

Search for Oliver Jetson, he's done a diagram of the R1 cooling.

Just about to finish mine and I've the header tank on the scuttle with the bottom connection going to the water pump breather (after the tee) and the top going to the vent off the thermostat housing.

Hope it's right.
