My car passed its 2nd milestone last night - moved under its own power.
Bizzarrely, despite having no silencer & being loud enough to break windows, no-one in the close came out to see what the racket was!
What can I use to reduce the size of the video so I can post it on the web? - I want a free basic mpeg editor - windoze media player doesn't seem
to have any editing function...
Back to the car - it all felt very good for a maiden voyage (of all of 20ft) so I'm V. pleased
Cheers
Bob
PS - my project plan has 3 milestones: start engine - drive car - get SVA : and no timescales...
I managed 3" forwards and 3" backwards so not as impressive as you
Well done. Feels good don't it!
congratulations, i was hoping to do the same a week or so ago, except i found despite being sure i'd fixed this last year, i still had the wrong
ring gear on the fly.
Didn't want to start it without an exhaust. (i have a starter that fits the ring gear, except it found the westfield exhaust).
congraultions again and .....
Win XP has Windows Movie Maker.
excellent - movie maker is just the thing!

hehe nice one,you can see the concentration on your face
hah - too right, that really WAS its 1st movement under its own steam & the vid doesn't do justice to the decibels!! As it happens the clutch
works quite well (2 diaphragms) so I didn't stall it immediately!
Bob
PS it now has 2 rear wings. . . .
PPS the elation came 5 minutes later while packing up... it worked, nothing clonked, nothing fell off clutch & brakes were nice etc. etc.

Congratulations Bob. It came close, but you didn't even stall it.
Was that your first ever drive of a BEC? If so, well done.
stalled it later when I couldn't find neutral..... must wire the neutral switch up!
Seriously I would have given it a little more beans but you would NOT believe how painfully loud the thing was in the carport...
Yep - as well as being the car's first drive, it was my first drive in a BEC - I'm sure I'll get better at it!
cheers
Bob
still feeling smug
