evening all
what is best for sealing a weeping radiator, I was warming the blade up and checking it over ready for Aintree the temp was up at about 100 when i noticed smoke coming from the rectifier just as I was about to switch the engine off the bottom hose blew off the radiator. when everything had cooled down I refitted the hose and filled the system again and checked the fan thermostat in the rad which was not operating ( pan of boiling water and a continuity tester ) and also checked the spare one which is working.
started the engine just over 100 the fan kicks in but now i've got a slight weep in the rad when its under pressure which is turning to steam so it looks worse than it is.
Also does anyone have a rectifier off the 250 honda that everyone replaces the blade one with that they wish to sell.

do you have a pressure release cap? Mine doesnt, and thats probably the cause of my hoses occationally blowing off (or up, at rockingham ).

As for the weep, you either need rad weld if you trust the stuff, or a new rad. Probably not worth repairing it unless you can do it yourself/cheap.

Get some "Barsleak" and stick it in the rad, Most of the racing teams use it, stops any small leaks, and weeps.



Far better than Rad weld.

to give it a good solution we will need to know the material where the weep is in.

Ally?
Copper?
Iron?
Cast iron??
