893blade vs R1

Is there much difference in the performance between the 2 on the track/road?

I converted from a 919 blade (which is identical to an 893 in performance terms apart from very slightly better mid range) to a 2003 injected R1 so fairly qualified to answer this one.

I would say yes, the R1 definitely pulls a fair bit harder and keeps going longer when the speed rises. A mate of mine who I often go out for road blasts with has a Megablade with an 893 in and previously we were (unsuprisingly) neck and neck when accelerating, say an overtake from 30mph to errr "70+" we wouldnt gain/lose anything on each other, whereas now I can keep up with him by changing up at about 9k, or if giving it the full beans can pull several car lengths on him in a fairly short stretch of road.

Having said that, on track a well driven blade will still give an R1 (or busa) a good run for its money, so its not as though its night and day difference, especially at sub 90-100mph before wind resistance really kicks in and makes the lower power car suffer more.
