Oil Leak
fesycresy - 11/6/06 at 06:10 PM

I've just sprung an oil leak from the oil level sensor. It normally seals with an o ring but I've taken it out (cut it flat) for the sump baffle.

I've cut an oval plate and used the back of the oil level plate to seal against the sump.

I've tried green hermatite but it obviously didn't work. Anyone got an suggestions, what about standard high temp hermatite, think it would survive subjected to the constant hot oil ?

I used to use blue Hylomar quite a lot, seemed resistant to most things. Unfortunately i ain't got any left or i'd let you have some.

HA! I lie.
Just been out to the garage and found half a tube - you're welcome to try it if you want. I managed to seal my fuel tank with this stuff so it's pretty resilient !!
