I should be picking up my engine from holeshot this week,
what 1/4 mile times can I expect with 320bhp at the wheels, its geard for 120.
I'd say low 11's and maybe high 10's with good traction.
I reckon you'll run out of revs though as my stock R1 BEC was hitting 110mph over the line, so yours should easily exceed 120mph.
I think I may have to build a 3.14lsd.
traction is going to be problem, but when ive learnt a bit about the car( and saved some cash) Im gonna put a 6 stage boost controll on.
out of curiosity what time do the 300bhp nissan turbo boat anchors do?

I'd say mid-11's... so much power you'll have hell on trying to hold down the back. Maybe if using slicks you'de get into low
11's late 10's.
Hope that 'bird engine is dry sumped!
this bird is definatley dry sumped
Also depends on how you set it all up, if you set it up purely for 1/4 miles with spool diff and suspension specifically for maximum traction then you'd get it lower, but then it compromises the car too much for other use. A chap called Dave Edmunds has done this with a Hart powered Caterham. Its about 300bhp normally aspirated with a sequential box and purely set up for drag racing and its almost dipping into the 9's I think.
spool diff?
Yes I think 120 mph will be your limiting factor, you should be looking at a 125/130 mph terminal I would have thought
whats the best alternative for the diff, has it got to be lsd?

lokks like its built for the job
out of curiosity what sort of money are we talking for the turbo conversion.??????
big horse power
I havent added up everything yet, but i have dry sumped as well, i think its around 6k,
ill post exact costings and spec as soon nas i know,
it could probably be done for around 4500,
it sounds alot of cash, but i only paid £4800 for the car and ive spent no more than £7000, including willwood brakes and new whels and tyres, so at
around £12000 I think its worth it all day long, im sure some of you have spent nearly that on a new build wit standard engine?
not far short of that around 10k.
your not far from me i am near haverhill suffolk.
would love to see the car some time perhaps a sunday drive out/meet.
cheers
sean
which isn't far from me in Sudbury.
Gotta say I'm considering doing the R1 turbo thing on my car after its on the road.
get it on the road first there plenty powerful enough
although dilley will have major bragging rights
I would give a race around cadwell,so long as he leaves the pram tyres on the front

I quite often have a ride out to haverhill and sudbury, theres some cracking roads on the way, and it would be nice to go for a blast with someone else.
A rear wing will aid traction once under way. It should also improve stability. Looks pretty slick though.

My 200bhp (ish according to digidash2) zx12r powered bec spins the wheels in the first 3 gears, I dread to think what 320 bhp and a turbo will do to
the traction..
And thats with warm 888's
