turbo hits the chassis

I picked up my engine from holeshot today, got it all home and tried to fit it,

the turbo hits the diagonal cross member, I need about 10mm, so, Ive thought about cutting out the middle part of the cross member and welding it onto the side with 50mm coverage this will give me the thickness of the tube as clearance, Ive got dax side panels as extras on top of the mk ones so what ever I do wont be seen.

I hope you understand what I meen, if some one can draw a diagram It will make it alot clearer.

Just do it. Move the cross brace or add two shorter ones. Chassis doesn't have be as per book.

Id cut the hole thing out and weld in 2 shorter ones top and bottom. Or 1 just below where it needs to be.

Piccies!? Curious to see what bits you get with the Holeshot Turbo...

Would be great if you could show off your bits to us!

Chris.

We had exactly the same problem on my friend's Busa Turbo.

The neatest way of doing it is put gussets into each corner then make a detachable tube that bolts to the outside of it. A picture paints a 1000 words etc...

The other good thing about doing it this way is if you ever need to remove the turbo whilst the engine is installed, you can remove the bar which makes it 10x easier.

Chris, that looks like Baz's motor?

Rich.

Yep, my uncle did the mods for him on that chassis rail.
