Just a quick one...

Has anyone modded a cheap temperature sender that has a similar resistance range output to that of an 5JJ R1?

I have a set of 5JJ clocks and was wondering if there is a cheaper sender than the silly Yamaha OE price for one that will work with these clocks?

Resistance range as follows...

9.7 ~ 11.4 kohms at 50°C
3.4 ~ 4.0 kohms at 80°C
1.6 ~ 1.9 kohms at 105°C
1.1 ~ 1.2 kohms at 120°C

Is it possible to exchange the thermistor in a cheap sender to give the same output?
