R1 Clutch Movement
lsdweb - 10/8/06 at 08:07 PM

Hi All

I've just finished fitting the clutch (hydraulic) mechanism to my R1 and wanted to know how much angular movement there is after all the slack has been taken up.

Pictures here and here

Many thanks

Wyn

On a standard R1 there should be 12-13mm of linear cable movement. That should point you in the right direction!

Thanks.

As I don't have the standard clutch arm, it's not possible to 'convert' this into an angular figure!

Hmmmm.... I thought as much from your pics! If you measure the length of the arm centre to centre I'll try to compare it with mine over the weekend to give you the linear movement for your arm. I don't really have the means of giving you an angular measurement.

Thanks Coose

Could you measure your arm for me - from the centres of the two pivot points.

I can then work out what 12mm movement should equate to on mine

Sorry old chap, I didn't really get the chance to measure it before now. Anyhoo, it's 35mm between centres.

Hope that helps!

Many thanks!

I can work out the angle from that so I can setup the mechanism to avoid kiling the clutch!
