can anyone tell me if they have fitted a foam sausage filter to there 929/954, ive offered mine up to fit and the injection rail is bang in the way. the base plate is a blank, so i can do what i want with it.

I fitted a ITG filter to my last Indy with the 929cc rry blade fitted,came with the blank base plate,I had to cut the holes at a offset in the base plate in order to move it away from the fuel rail.

looks like a neat install paul, you didn't use the trumpets that are inside the air box off the bike in anyway then???

No did not reuse the trumpets,they are that tall it would have meant cutting out a hole in the bonnet to put thew filter through,it did not to have any real effect on performance,with a power commander fitted,and a Raven exhaust it made 124bhp at the wheels on the rolling road.

I have fitted an ITG filter to my Blackbird injection engine.

Needed to make a spacer up from aluminium extrusion to get the base plate above the fuel rail.

I have gone for quite a tall filter so I could use the standard trumpets.

I guess you will have height issues in a 7 style car though. With the GT1 I have quite a lot of room above the engine and still within the engine cowl.

we fitted a 929 fireblade with the itg filter,as paul says just offset the base plate and it will all still fit under the bonnet, with the power commander you should be able to iron out any problems with not having the trumpets fitted.
we didnt run the trumpets and it was fine.

the filter i got is from tts. think i'm going to have to make a spacer up, where ever we put it the inlet holes will be to close the edge.

I too fitted an ITG to my 954 engine, infact it was Paul Fisher who put me on to it. Incidently I got over the fuel rail by using the original airbox inlets that bolt onto the butterflys, did it by cutting the four outlets and mating it to the itg alloy base plate. Used fibre glass to do it and worked great, this meant i could retain the trumpets even though they are cut down somewhat to fit under the filter. Also meant I could retain the sensor that fits in the airbox (forgot what the sensor does!!).

I do like to complicate things!

ive just bought a rather nice carbon fibre back plate off a guy that sells them on wscc for £65. It fits a treat!

And so it should for £65
