Looking for someone
enginearin - 24/4/07 at 04:10 PM

Hello all,

I crashed my phoenix a while back and sold on the chassis and bits to a guy from Wakefield who posts on here... i think he used to use a pic of the car as an avatar so i thought i'd post up a pic to jog peoples memory.

Not after anything sinister... just curious to see if he ever got round to repairing it... I'm sure he was intending to convert it to BEC

Anybody know of the person i'm on about, tried searching but its a bit difficult when you don't have a username.

Cheers

Tim

Confused but excited. - 24/4/07 at 04:46 PM

Didn't see them, I was stunned by the lace curtains in there.

I guess that would be me then!!!!!!!! You should see the wall to wall carpet and the TV. I'll post photos of the car later once the batterys are charged for the camera.

Hi Tim how's the Westie going. The phoenix is fully repaired and just needs some new wheels and an exhaust to finish the job. The car is now fitted with

ZX12 engine
paddle shift
dry sump system
LSD
Stuart Taylor race bodywork
Full Raceleda front end
Digi Dash

and the list goes on.

Cheers Carl

Sorry for the slow response... had a hectic few weeks and forgot i'd posted this up...

I daydream about driving the old Phoenix sometimes (like today) and remembered to come and look for any responses.

Is that the same car in your avatar Carl??? what a transformation!!! I bet you've had to solve so many issues... did you get new bodywork to fit easily? The Phoenix's i've seen recently all seem tiny compared with how i remember mine. Did you end up making new wishbones or could you buy new ones with the same geometry?

The westfield is ok... had to rebuild the engine last summer which kept me off the road for a while... got back together in September last year and just managed to get it run in before winter.

Just had the suspension set up last week (after some upgrades), we're addressing the last few issues tonight and i'm back on the road again... I can hardly wait!!!

Anyhow... I'm really pleased that you managed to rescue it and would love to see some more photos if you want to post them up.

Thanks to all who pointed me in Carl's direction too... how rude of me not to come back to follow up!

Cheers

Tim

Tim

Send me a u2u or an e-mail and we'll arrange for you to come round and see your old motor. I only live 10mins form where I collected the chassis from.
