As the title says, im on with a turbo conversion (still i know
, too much work still and no play ).
I was wondering wether the standard ford sierra brakes up front would be up to the job still or should i think about upgradeing the stopping power,
if so any recomendations. Going to stick with the rear drums though.
brakes used to stop a sierra / cortina, so should stop a 1/2 ton kit car fine with no mods
i see your picture archive that your running turbo, so i take it from experiance its ok.
only passed sva a few weeks ago, and to be honest theres nothing wrong with standard brakes, they work fine.
just remember the cars less than 1/2 the weight of the donor car
might be best asking what the v8 guys use as no doubt they weigh a little more or the pinto lot lol

I'm still using the cortina front and escort rear drums they still seem to be up to the job As graeme said The cars 1/2 the weight of the
donor.
Saying that though Long term I will upgrade the fronts they certainly get a lot more stick my brake discs are blue!
Dave....................
Ta boys, suppose will find out when its back on the road.
Thanks Joe
more braking the better IMHO, its not about stopping ok its about stopping damned fast when you need to. With that in mind id start with solid discs and mintex 1144 pads, and upgrade to 4 pots if you desire.
