Any ideas where to order a set of gear selector forks for a 919cc RR-X ('99) blade? Is there such a thing as uprated / stronger items? I'm
assuming I can't just hammer the originals back into shape!
Also, is it true these can be got at by removing the sump so I don't have to split the engine?
Many thank you's in advance!
Ali
Not 100 cure about the Blade engine but if it is made even remotely like the CBR600 engine then if you pull off the clutch and then the oil pump you
should be able to pull out the shaft that holds the gear selectors in place.
I would doubt it will be an easy job with the engine in situ but with the engine out and upsidedown then it should be possible to do by just removeing
the sump.
MY old CBR lump munched a secector fork also. This was the final outcome
Had the back wheel lock up at about 85mph on the M25 whilst in the outside lane. Somehow made it to the hard shoulder.

oh and www.davidsilverspares.co.uk might be a good starting point.

Drop the sump and you can see the problem, you will need to split the engine to mend. Typically the selectors are burnt... no raised wear pad is the
identifier. Typically the selectors aren't bent they are burnt. Any good Motorcycle Spares shop should do 'em - new, they are about £50 each
You need the number of the fork which is typically sintered into the fork itself.

The problem with the Quaife CR box is that it lowers 6th and raises first I think, which is not really what you want in a BEC.
£500!!
Don't you dare use that sort of language around me again!!

an extra couple of hundred I might as well drop in a new engine!
Thanks for the help guys looks like a long weekend job sometime soon!

Hmmm dunno about posting but could meet you at the ferry? Yes engine number is intact
Give me a couple of days to think about it (see if I can afford it!).
