Micron Exhaust Can

Does anyone know if the end-cap on a Micron Exhaust will slide-off if the rivets are drilled out?

I need to turn it upside down so that it points to the ground instead of the sky!!!

Out of interest why do you want to point it at the ground?

The Micron Can end-cap has an angled downward bend when fitted to the offside of a bike.

As it will sit on the nearside of my car, the end-cap would point upwards if the can was fitted using the attached mounting point.

To simply fit it upside-down would look a bit nasty as the 'join' of the CF tube is on the viewable side and the Micron Logo would be upside down.

Sooo.... it might be easier just to undo the rivets on the end cap and turn the cap round to point downwards!

I was referring more to pointing down rather than pointing outwards, or is it an oval can and therefore can only go one way or the other?

It's probably better looking HERE

The can will be fitted to the offside of my car (instead of the the nearside for which it was intended).

I could of course simply leave it as it is and rotate it so the angled end-cap faces down, but that would leave the 'inner' side of the can exposed to view and would turn the nice shiny Micron logo facing inwards towards the sideskins.

Also, the 'inner' side of the can has the CF join and the mounting plate on it - the join is noticeable and to remove and re-fit the mounting bracket would be a PITA. This would therefore not be a particularly aesthetically pleasing option.

So, I just thought about drillling out the rivets holding the end cap in place, turning it through 180 degrees and rivetting it back on.

I could then fit the can with the 'right' side exposed to view!

Mines got allen screws in the end, not rivits and yes you can undo and flip over, its a repackable can.

Skootz, you've still missed what I was on about

I fully understand why you want the outside of the can to continue pointing outwards, but I was asking why you would want to point the exit pip "down" at the tarmac rather than out away from the car like most silencers?

A-Ha... I'm with you now!

I should have mentioned that where the end-cap points is not really what bothers me (as long as it's not up) - I'm more concerned about ensuring that the more 'presentable' side of the can is on show!

I knew I wasn't explaining it very well...
