I am looking at going to airfield day (if anyones knows of any around reading let me know!!)
i am wondering how i could find out what my db reading is. I have a zx9r lump i am going to be up close to the limit?

somebody nearby might have a noise meter you can test the car on

between basingstoke and reading

Mine was 110db with a racecan.
Less than 105db with a modified R1 can.
And less than 98db with a standard gsxr can. ( all drive by)
also depends if its drive by or static, as a lot of the noise is induction roar on drive by. If its a static test, stick some tape over your rev counter

A few questions which will help people judge roughly what noise levels you're likely to hit....

What size silencer do you have?
If its re-packable, has it been done recently?
Airbox or a sausage filter?
Hole in the bonnet or not?
