Does anyone run a hand clutch? If so, do you have any pic's of your install?

There was a guy who had modded 2 westys to use a hand clutch since he had lost the use of his legs.

Was in a magazine sometime ago, have had a search but cant find it.

I hope thats of some help although it may not be!

Presumably if its a bike enginned car its easier to use a hand clutch!!! You can just use the original equipment. Then you're guaranteed to have no MC/SC ratio problems...

I have seen a couple of hand clutch installs. I think the main problem comes when trying to pull out of a junction (turning left or right) when you need two hands on the wheel plus one on the clutch.

there is a guy who runs a fully modifed westfield in the auto 66 hillclimb championship. he is in a wheelchair and runs a turbo busa engine which is offset, full hand controls for throttle, brake, and clutch. very trick set up that he built himself. his name is Chris Snell, i dont have his number but i know a man who does if you want to get in touch.

I have seem a hand opperated clutch fitted to a BEC. Bit dificult to discribe but here goes. The clutch opperating lever was a unit similar to a very large paddle gear change, which was on the right hand side of the wheel, and turned with the wheel. The gears were opperated by a pull/push lever on the left of the wheel, but fixed to the column, so didnt turn with the wheel. The guy was disabled that owned it, and said once you had got used to it, it worked great. HTH Ray
