Hi Guys

A mate is having trouble with getting 5th and 6th gear in a late model Hayabussa engined car. It is fine at low revs (4000)but won't go in at higher RPM. He describes it as like trying to find 7th in a six speed.

Has anyone heard of this problem?

Can he get 5th and 6th without any selection problems?

If so then Im guessing that the final drive is the wrong one.

it selects ok a slower speeds but won't select when under more load.

might be the dog spigots on the gears themselves - i have heard that they can shear off....

with out stripping it down its hard to tell whats gone wrong,,i had 3rd 4th 5th and 6th gears go and a bent selector fork and all mine was doing was making a horrible noise in top gear but only on decelaration,it would still go into every gear and wouldnt drop out but the noise it made was really bad
