BEC carb blanking plugs
locoboy - 17/8/07 at 06:15 PM

I have had my car at a friends garage for the last couple of days and he has been struggling to get it to repeatedly read within the right emmisions limits.

Am i right in thinking that the emissions test you go through on an SVA is the same as if you were to take your tin top for its MOT?

He has managed to get it within the correct band -assuming its the same as a tintop MOT! a couple of times but not repeatedly.

I am going to go to SVA with the fish tank valves at the ready just incase it doesnt pass!

Can anyone advise what i need to buy that will screw into the appropriate holes in my inlet manifold on the Carbed 4xv R1 engine and will allow the attachment of some tubing?

Thanks

I've just fitted some stainless steel air plugs onto my Blade engine - I am afraid I don't know what thread they are, so I can't tell you if they will fit your R1.

But I bought them from Andy Bates. They were £10 for all four (as oppossed to Honda wanting £10 each!).

If you give him a shout I am sure he will tell you whether they will fit or not.

will they allow the attachment of tubing?

If so then what do you have a ttached to them at the moment to stop it sucking air in?

Yes they are for attaching a carb balancer to them.

At the moment I have a piece of tubing linking them together, and therefore don't need blanking off.

eedited to add: I have cylinders 1&2 joined together and 3&4.
