Paddle shift with cables?

Has any done a paddle shift with cables? if so do you have any pics of how its been attached to the gearbox? Just trying to think of the best way to do it.

MK did one on their Black R1 Demo car, and their should be some photos of it somewhere!

It was at the customers request, and it didn't work quite aswell as they wanted straight away, and were thinking of swapping it to rods...

The MGF has a cable operated gearchange. It might be a bit chunky for a bec but would be a good place to start.

MArk at MNR swears by cable shift and uses it with paddles, I personally think rods are better but if anyone knows then Mark should so it must work fine.

Hellfire has one fitted to there car they may be able to help

i have paddles with cable change there are some pics in my archive.i moved from rods to cable and have been very happy with it.

If you drop Pathfinder a U2U he may be able to help... we were helping him develop one for the Indy, which retains the Sierra Steering Column. It may be complete now as we have it working so good we have removed the centre tunnel shift. Very well made and reliable...

Just an idea but would using a similar idea to a BMX Gyro (so you can spin the bars) be worth having a look at?

Sounds a great idea but there'd be a few problems to overcome - gryo's aren't quite as direct in their operation, so you'd probably lose a bit of time in each shift, and they're only designed to pull, not be used with a push/pull cable, unless you can get a gyro that will work for two cables rather than just one?
