AJ30 - X type or S type

Anyone know of the pitfalls in using a X type donor engine instead of the S type?

You won’t get the engine mounts.
Different sump, probably a good thing.
Different Inlet.
There is a large lump of pig iron in the “V” used for the transverse engine mount that you can’t remove with out taking a head of.

Pretty sure the xtype uses the water pump off the camshaft like the ST220 does, not sure if you can remove it and black it off or if it needs a cam swap erc

I'm no expert in these things, but isn't the Jag X-Type based on the Ford Mondeo of the same era?

They never fitted a AJ30 to a Mondeo though, the Mondeo ST220 engine is very similar but heads are different to the Jag AJ30
