bike fuel pumps
Hi all iv just got a bike fuel pump to fit to the car to run my zx9r carbs on a pinto what i would like to now is should it be fitted horizontal or
vertical thankyou Graham

Don't think it matters.
Everyone will tell you different.
And tell you to mount it at the tank or at the engine end of the car.
Don't think that really matters either.

i have mine swinging about at the back, it works fine. They allegedly push better than they pull, but im sure it would work either way.

Nope, you're definitely wrong there Mark. Should be 42 degrees from the vertical.

I bow to your superior knowledge 
Am I correct in thinking it should point directly at the handbrake for maximum power under acceleration? (at an angle of 9 degrees from the centre
axis of the car of course?

mines horizontal at the back of the car... no wait the front of the pump may just be slightly higher than the back, could be 2 degrees maybe slightly
more.

I think I'll mount mine on a gyroscopic bearing to maintain perfect level for maximum power and acceleration at all times

Hi thanks for the info thats it then 48 degrees Mark or 42 Phil or in a box in the garage think i will fit it at the back looking north or south or
east or west is that ok by you two
