Clocks edge radius
Iam planning to fit the zx12 clocks to my dash but the only position that they will fit means that the speedo and part of the tacho will fall outside
of the steering wheel exclusion zone.
Has anyone rubbed down the edges of their dials to give them the correct radius and managed to maintain a good finish? I dont want to mess up the
clocks if I can help it.

Hi.
Could you fit a temporary foam or rubber cover on your dash so the dials pull into the foam and the bezels would then be flush with the surface?
They would then be SVA compliant.
After the test remove the cover

The trouble with that is that I will have to try and make it look like a permanent fit as the SVA inspectors are getting a bit picky about covering
things in foam if they look like they can be removed afterwards. I would rather go for a permanent solution.

On our first build, we manufactured a black plastic surround to fit around the clock faces, which fell off after SVA and wasn't replaced. To be
honest though, I don't think the tester paid much attention to the clocks.

I will probably have to find something to cover the whole unit as the clocks have to be surface mounted as there is a cross member that runs behind
the dash which is only 6 in deep. So recessing the clocks is not an option unfortunatley.
I could always mount them and wait to see if they get picked up!!
