Build Update (Weight)

Ok everyone

Just a quick update I have just spoken to Martin
The car weighs 400KG !!!!!!!
As it stands in the picture so with the body (grp),seats(grp)and lights I'm looking at an all up weight of approx 450kg

Engine 130bhp maybe a bit more

So looking at a power to weight of approx 280bhp per ton
I think that stacks up quite well if my math was correct

The only heavy item left to add is ME!!!!!
Looks like its the atkins diet for me thats cheaper than tuning the engine

Lee

PS I have a 150bhp Daytona engine in the garage for when I get used to the car

my car has 290 BHP / tonne and it is quick

I'm sorry to tell you this but I'm not so sure that GRP + seats + lights = 50kg. Not unless your GRP is very thin. Work on about 10kg per quare metre of GRP panel and you will be fairly close.

Have you seen the size of the car

OVERALL LENGTH 2870mm
WHEELBASE 1854mm
WIDTH 1397mm

But your probably right but looking good for sub 500kg

That is small. Should be very go-cart like Less than 500kg is likely which will be fun. The exhaust manifold is quite near your shoulders. Will it get a bit warm?
