'02 R1 rev counter feed?

Can this be taken from either the Yellow/Blue or Yellow/Black wire from the CDI to dash, or do I need to take it from the coil?

Thanks,
Martin.

If you are using an aftermarket Rev counter you should not use the yellow wires from the ECU. As well as tacho information, this wire is also used to send diagnostics to the Yamaha instrument cluster which would confuse a simple guage.

Take the signal from one of the coil feeds. This is what I have done for both a 2000 and 2003 model R1's with Digidash units

Cheers

Cheers Paul,
You've not had the problem Rob's had here under the April 18th entry?
I'm using a DD2 too.

Martin.

Nope, mine is running OK.

I know ETB are investigating to see if there is a specific issue with injected R1's as these are the only ones that have thrown up any kind of problem. It maybe that the ECU feed to the coils is lower than normal in the 02/03 R1 for some reason and in some cases this is enough to cause a problem.

Whatever the issue I'm sure they will put it right.
