r1 02/03 inj instruments loom connectors removal
hi does anyone know what plugs went to the r1 02/03 inj instruments and headlights? is it a six way and 10 way plug? and can all the wiring be traced
and cut out the loom or will it cause faults?

Im pretty sure all of them can be cut out, you can certainly leave it all unplugged without issue so as long as you folow the wires back and dont
remove anything else then I cant see why you couldnt cut them out totally, but I actually left the connector and few wires that go to the dash in
place so I could connect up a set of instruments for diagnostics if required.
Off the top of my head I can't remember what the plug looks likeas I tucked it up under the dash, but I think its the 10 way jobbie that
actually goes to the clocks

thanks chris, your diagnostics idea sounds good , never really thought about that, only drawback is the plugs cant really be hidden anywhere as my
engine is in the back

You can strip out most of the wiring as the majority is for lighting etc, I think from the two connectors you're only left with 1, and wth about
half the wires still connected. Once you've done that you should be able to hide it somewhere easily enough.
I'll see if I can find a rebuild pic with the connector showing
