ZX9R Fuse Box

Has anybody got rid of the fusebox as all I seem to need it for now is so the ecu knows the engine is in neutral, or clutch in etc. Is this all just to stop the starter cranking the engine or does the ecu refuse to fire the plugs if it doesn't recieve a signal.
After totally cutting out the fusebox and getting nothing I bought another loom and it starts with all the above intact.
Do I really need it all???

No you don't. Got mine started tonight without it. I think you just need to put the green/black wire to earth this is the one which feeds all the cut out switches and fools the ecu. Check out all Jaspers queries on Yahoo groups BEC list re:ZX9 no spark. All your answers are there. Best of luck.
