I've sent you an email which should hopefully answer questions 1-3 for you. If nobody can answer 4 then I'll check my car in the morning and let you know but if I remember right it goes to the start button.

on yr email, it says pin 43(black/blue) goes to earth does that mean it doesnt connect to anything else?

Ok.....

The black one from your cutoff relay goes to the start button (blue/white in your wiring diagram). Because it's black this most likely means you have the cyclelock.

The black/blue from the ECU goes to the ignition switch. Most people just connect this to the blue/yellow on the ignition switch and be done with it. I had some problems with it so I took the blue/black directly to earth as per the email I sent you.

One last thing that might help get you started. The black/yellow from the cutoff relay goes to the ecu and to the clutch switch. Keep the ecu part but take the black/yellow at the clutch switch directly to ground. This tells the ecu that all the safety measures are in place and it can start the engine (in a sense). If it doesn't sense these safetys it inhibits the spark (which I guess is your main problem).

If you are really struggling I can pop in next time I am down at Mac#1 and give you a hand for half an hour or so. I went through the same problems with my 03 engine.

ETA: The diagrams I sent you were courtesy of progers. He seems to be the R1 wiring man around here.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!! IVE GOT A SPARK!

well ...

it all came down to two things

1. Faulty tilt sensor

2.One of the red/black wires was loose, these were crimped by yamaha! (advise anyone to solder these and not trust a crimp) trouble was i couldnt see it cause it was all insulated.

all i need now is to connect fuel line and it should start, as i now have all the elements

A big ,big thanks to all the guys who have helped, i know this subject has been touched alot, but when you think you've got everything right, something else bites you in the ass! (attatchment courtesy of progers and speed8)
