First Start Up - Engine flooding

Last weekend I fired up my Blade engine with me sitting in the car for the first time. However when I connect the fuel pump (using the bike pump), the engine gets flooded with petrol to the extent that it came running out of the exhaust!. I disconnected the pump cleaned the plugs, cranked the engine a couple of times spraying carb cleaner and the engine started into life. It revved/ran without missing a single beat all teh way upto 5K

My carbs are re-jetted (Dyno -Jet) using 135 main jets. Teh kit intructiosn states 2,25 turens for the air/fuel mixture screw. It sounds odd to me as the original settingwas 2,5. What is the normal setting?

What woudl you think is the problem? I noticed that cylnder No.2 as teh main culprit when cranking teh engine without teh plugs!

Note: The noise was ecstatic as my 4 in 1 is cut into pieces! My mother in law turned all white as she happeend to be at our house

Regards

Sounds like you have a leaky carb. If the float in the fuel chamber doesn't seat/seal properly the pump will just kee filling it up with more fuel. This then flows into the engine and out the far side.

[AO|NT]L to that. Float valves sticking open. It could also be that the float height is wrong if the carbs are mounted at a different angle to the normal bike position holding them slightly open. Could even be just gunge that cleared out with the wash through of petrol.
