06 R1 Clutch Mods

Hi

I understand that the springs could do with some help.

Is it better to double them up, or to fit stiffer springs?

Anything else need done with the clutch for BEC use?

Chris, I think that's only relevent to the 98-03 engines with the diaphragm spring. Im pretty sure the 04 onwards R1s have conventional springs rather than the diaphragm spring so doubling up on conventional springs will be impossible Id think, and even if you get them in there it will bind up before it disengages.

I imagine people like Barnett will do uprated springs though, so giving someone like PDQ a call would be a a good start.

Chris

B*gger!

Does anyone want to buy 6 new standard cluch springs? Unused and unwanted!

I really should have waited before picking up the phone to Mr Yamaha.

Have you actually got them already? If so thats most unlike most Yam dealers Ive experienced, who usually order everything in taking several days

Id just speak to them and get a credit note for something else if they won't refund, you're always going to need things like oil filters, sump/clutch gaskets etc.

Ordered them earlier today. They insisted on taking payment at time of order. Should be with me next Wednesday.

Will give them a bell tomorrow morning to see if there's anyway I can change the order to the YEC springs.

Not a big deal anyway - they only cost a tenner.
