Engine Help......Please!?!?

Afternoon all,

I have just taken my BEC to test the emissions this afternoon and it has failed drastically. I am in no way an engine expert therefore in am trying to find a company in the west midlands that will assist. Does anyone know of any? I have got a blade engine on carbs and the CAT is now attached. Just need a company close to Warwick that can set up a carb and reduce the emissions.

Also, does anyone have a picture of the carb that points out where the mixture screw is? I have lost my manual!

Hope you can help.
Dom

Have you fitted some sort of air bleed system? just fitting a cat probably won't be enough to meet emissions.

I have just ordered it and it still needs to be fitted. Will it make that much of a difference.
These are my results:
HC 800
CO 5%
Lamda 0.85

Thanks for your reply.

Yes it will make a big difference, what setup are you running, is it on the standard air filter or a foam pipercross type, if the later has it been dynojetted?

it is a TTS filter that covers all of the trumpets and was also rolling roaded at TTS. The dynojets were added at the same time. So i guess that the carbs are balanced too.

Thats good, air bleed system should sort it, although you still might have to play with the mixture screws, most SVA testers will let you fiddle with it on the test, within reason.
Only asked if it had been dynojetted to make sure it wasn't running lean, as it would probably melt the cat if that was the case. TTS know their stuff, so i guess it will be spot on

I have just had a thought....TTS set the car up when it didn't have a CAT on! Now i wonder if it needs setting up correctly again.

Your car may have been tuned for best power rather than SVA emissions.

Your data suggests you are running rich. you need to adjust the idle mixture a bit more lean. Any MOT garage has the measureing equipment. they let me adjust mine for free.
