Fitting tbs on carb Blackbird

Can anyone shed light on fitting blackbird tbs to carb type engine, the spacing is different, has this caused problems, is it ok to have slightly longer and tweeked mounting rubbers, anyone noticed any detrimental effects in doing so. As always many thanks in advance.

blue2cv - I've done this with my R1 - the TB's have a tendency to try and work loose as the silicon reducers don't have the same grip as the normal rubbers. I've had to add a couple of brackets to keep them in place.

There's a photo somewhere on my web site.

Obviously, you'll need an ECU that can handle fuel injection on a carbed engine!

here

Regards

Wyn

This is what i'm doing on my carb blackbird with Megasquirt FI ECU.

You can fit the TB's on the carb engine with the INJ rubbers, by rotating then slightly, but this does restrict the venturi slightly.

I plan to use silicone hose reducers which will have enough give in them to feed smoothly from bodies to head. May need to add a couple of brackets as well......

No pics yet as i havent got the hoses yet.....

Ash.

Cheers gents, i have a megasquirt on order and will use a 12-1 trigger wheel (modded inj) as the ms wont recognise the carb 9-3 wheel.

Interesting! Will Megasquirt recognise the 12-1 wheel and will this fit in the place of the original?

According to the supplier it can read 12-1 or even 12-2 but not std 12-3, inj trigger wheel 12t looks same mounting as 12-3 std
