2005 R1 sausage filter?
Hi all,
Could someone tell me if a sausage filter will fit onto a 2005 R1 at all?? With the fuel rail one side and the servo motor for the secondary
butterflies the other, it looks very tight. I guess i could get a spacer plate made up to allow the filter to clear the fuel rail but height again is
the issue!!
I simply dont have the space in my Tiger to fit an airbox as the bonnet seems very low compared to other cars!!
To be honest I am on the verge of giving up with the '05 R1 and selling up to buy either a GSXR1000 or Kawasaki ZX12R which have both been
fitted before. Whatever i do the servo motor is going to stick up above the bonnet line!!!
Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh

I don't know if swapping engines will help as the gsxr1000 sticks out the bonnet on a Tiger install as well and a ZX12 is not small either
see here:

I agree about the servo motor though having the air filter through the bonnet is ok but you wouldn't want a servo motor sticking up, is it
possible to remount the servo motor in a better place?
Cheers

Some pics would be great thanks. According to my measurements at present, with the sump sitting 1" below the chassis rail the top of the
throttle bodies sits level with the lowest point of the bonnet which is just behind the central bulge. I am happy to have a sausage filter sticking
out of the bonnet but i am very tight on space. Gotta be honest i think i may be better off moving over to a ZX12R or GSXR1000 as they have both been
fitted before (and Tiger supply exhausts as standard for £160+VAT).
