bike brakes

has anyone ever fitted bike brake calipers and discs to the front of there car would it work. or do you think the discs would melt. ive got a set of bike front calipers and there very light and they look like 4 pot car calipers. or i was thinking to put a spacer because they spilt apart i the middle to fit on the car single discs.

If you do a search you'll find several threads that have discussed it previously. It can be done (Stuart Taylor have done it) but generally only on the back I think, and there's issues such as most calipers being radially mounted with hose inlets on the outside face which then means you need big wheels to clear it all.

iam gonna have a go at doing it the calipers ive got (just had a good look) the pipe is at the side so it looks like it can be done. if i get some alloy bells made up i could get the discs to fit as well.
