What size battery for R1?

Just a quickie...

What size battery have people used for their R1 (or any BEC really)? Price and best supplier?

Same size as the bike uses or larger?

Thanks,

Chris.

A 12Ahr battery (similar to that used in the bike) is more than man enough as long as you trickle charge it when the car is idle for any length of time. Best supplier is www.mdsbattery.co.uk

Cheers

Paul

Use the original bike battery and trickle charge when not in regular use.

10 is the OEM for the bike. I suppose you could argue the battery will be powering more in the car but IMHO not enough to warrant upsizing (slightly larger and heavier)

Rich

edited to say, beware the battery number doesnt reflect its mah capacity ie the YTX12 is a 10aAh the YTX14 is 12Ah etc

yep just use 12 ah on ours with no problems, best bet is to get a trickle charger ( optimate ) for long periods when not in use, just had a thought would people be interested in a group buy ( my uncle is a main battery distributor )

best regards

marc

I bought it put the acid in and have never used it as now bought a zx12-r lump so need different battery.

Im only asking £15.00 but only problem is i wouldn't want to send it as i have put the acid in.

Let me know if you want it
