'02 injection R1, no fuel pump power.

I'm using the original loom on my '02 injection R1.
I think I've connected everything correctly as the starter runs when I earth the starter switch wiring.
However, I'm not getting any voltage on the Red/blue wire to the fuel pump from the relay assembly.

Lean angle sensor has been epoxied in place.
Clutch and side stand switches have been shorted.
Kill switch is connected via normally closed contacts on a FIA cut-off switch.

Am I missing something or have I got other problems?

Thanks,
Martin.

The fuel pump on the 03 R1 only runs for about 5 seconds when you turn on the ignition then it powers it again after the engine starts. If its the same on the 02 you should hear the fuel pump relay click off. Check for power when you first turn on the ignition. If it goes off after this then all is okay.

Cheers,
I didn't realise that when checking the voltage.
The pump isn't doing anything when I switch the ignition on though. I know it works as I've briefly run it straight off the battery.

Hi.

Mine does power up for 5 - 10 secs when I turn the main switch on (others are bridged).

Have you checked the continuity of the wire? Where does it goes to?

Joao

Wire's ok, it buzzes out ok from the relay assembly. Now I've added a feed to the injection fuse, power's going to the assembly.
I need to stick 12v directly across the relay coil tomorrow to see if it works. Something's clicking in the assembly, but I can't tell how many relays are working by ear.

I had similar problem with my zx 12r the problem with mine was I wasn't using the bike ignition switch gear & the bike had a encoded key imobiliser. to get over it I fitted a 5 ohm resister into the power wire from ignition to ecu & then the ecu controls fuel presure by suppling the relay with a earth. yours may be similar.
