Mounting a bike battery flat
I have a motorbike battery - it's a for a fireblade a sealed type, I was
just wondering is it OK to mount this battry lying flat? I know it's a
big no no with car batteries, but I'm sure I've seen some bike batteries
mounted like that. Will it leak?
Thanks in advance

Actually I am not sure but considering when you buy them you have to put the acid into them and push the caps on then I would think this is asking for
trouble, I'd say if you can then keep it upright.

You can if it is the Gel type and not the conventional lead acid - otherwise it is a big no-no.

When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

As said, you need a gel or dry battery, odessy batteries are good, you can mount them just about anywhere, Got mine from MNR for a very reasonable
amount. Went through 3 supposedly sealed bike batteries before that, and they all leaked, even mounted upright.
