blade engine 1st test run

hi all
went out today for the first real test run today !
just blown the zx9 up and swapped for a blade.
very disappointed
its been jetted
runs fine no stutters or anything

but seem hell of a lot slower that the zx9
even tried a timing advancer didn't make that much difference,
thought these were on par with the zx9s
any thing i should be doing?

cheers paul

The blade is a few bhp down on a ZX9 but it shouldnt be much. The blade however is significantly higher geared than the ZX9 so if youve kept the same diff etc, it will be longer in each gear and so will feel slower. Mine felt the same when I swapped from a 3.89 to 3.54 difff, but in reality it wasnt any slower, just the perception made it feel slower.

If he thinks the blade is slower than the ZX9, god help him if he puts a lump of rusty old iron in it!!! You'll never hear the last of it...

RRV
Played around with it yesterday, got it moving alot better,
so not as pissed off now, just dont have the kick as the zx9, its alot better through the gears, and the changing of gears is alot better

Good news, it really shouldnt be much different, Ive been on track with several ZX9s when I had the blade and they didnt seem any quicker in reality, although as mentioned before the lower gearing and higher red line might make it feel a bit quicker.
