im having a mad 5mins so
is number 1cylinder at the sprocket end
or the timing chain end

Normal at the timingbelt/chain

So no.1 is effectively at the front of the car then?
Is that for all engines? I have a Hayabusa and was pondering exactly this point!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

im not sure as not all car engines number1 is at the chain/belt end
as renault number 1 is gearbox end
so any one know for sure

Not sure about the Hayabusa but on the R1 no1 is at the sprocket end I found out the hard way when I first tried to start mine !

Was sort of hoping that No1 is the sprocket end!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

Dunno bud, havent started it yet! Making up the loom and thats the way the cables sort of fell, which is why I was hoping it was the case that 1 was
at the sprocket end!
If it starts, (which will be a miracle due to the amount of loom mods Ive made!!!), Ill let ya know. Then you can call me a smart ass!!!!

if your engine management runs a wasted spark system then I thought it doesn't matter which cylinder has which spark plug connected to it as
there will always be a spark when the piston is up at the cylinder head
but I stand to be corrected

Correct, for wasted spark on a 4-cylinder it doesn't matter - the engine and it's operation is symmetrical.
