don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you buy halfords branded batteries you get a really good discount. Normally between 40 - 60%

Malc at yorkshire engines does a fair trade in those piddly little things you could use to turn over a proper engine. Can you believe some folks think
they're enough to actually run a car?

Halfords batteries are very expensive to start with.
Online battery suppliers are usually much much cheaper but never buy the cheapest batteries it pays to pay an extra tenner for a premium battery with
a longer warranty.
Cheap batteries usually only survive 2 winters the best premuim batteries with lithium technology will go on working for ten years plus.
If you fit a battery with too small a current rating the high in rush current when you initially try to start the car will kill the battery by
buckling the plates. The minimum size that would probably be useable would be one from a 2 litre car.

I was in halfords last night, gettin plates done and a feller before me bought a battery on his trade card, worked out at 25 quid, there batteries
caught my eye as they only do 3 sizes, small medium and large in the store near me, and the poster said you need to fit a larger size than normal when
fitting sat navs!
I bought some wipers in there on a trade card that worked out at £2.12!

yes halfords is large brand which has sacrificed customer care and aims to make big profits blah blah.
On the plus side I got hold of a trade card last week and they promise to beat all like for like trade prices. Looks like the motorfactors just became
a secondary supplier .

My wife drives on Saturdays for a local parts firm and she delivers to Halfords sometimes I get discount on her work account so the price is before
Halfords put their 50% on.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
