Blade (Head Off)

I have one if not two inlet valves in trouble in No 4;
Can you tell me the do s n donts involved.
Should i take the head to be done for me or
is it a job i can tackle?
Plus the best place for parts.

Ash, there's a couple of cylinder heads on ebay at the mo' and cheap too!
Item no.s 8010118674 and 8011350616
(Someone more clever than I will be able to do a link, no doubt.)
Alternatively, it might be worth giving Andy Bates a call at AB Performance for advice as he is an expert on the 'blade engine. Tel 01284 703101.
Provided you've got a Haynes manual and a 'motorcycle' type torque wrench, (one with a low torque setting range) then I would've thought you should be able to do the job yourself.

Andy.

I flogged my blade heads for around £50 each so it would probably be more more economical to buy a second hand one like those Andrew has highlighted assuming they are good!
You'd still want a Haynes manual to guide you so you get all the cam timing etc right when refitting, but should be a DIY job.

All back together but got a problem..
Number 4 on reving blows fuel back n soaks the air filter. She does not rev freely under 4000rpm over that its fine. I put std can back on thinkin it dont like the race one but to no avail any clues!
