Wiring up my R1 Inj 02-03 Phoenix

Hi Guys,

I am just finishing of the wiring on the new R1 motor but seem to be
having a brain fade moment on the ignition switch.

There are five wires which link to the ignition key:-

A thick Red and a thick brown/blue. I have wired these either side
of the to the ignition key.

But there is also a three wire combo going to a red plug
(Blue/Yellow to starter relay assembley, Blue/Black (which becomes a
black and goes to the ECU) and a brown/red.

The brown/red looks to be just a live feed to the side lights so I
can ignore this but have you R1 Inj guys permanently spliced the
Blue/ yellow to Blue/Black (which becomes a black and goes to the
ECU).

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Jim

Somebody told me to just splice the Bl/Y and Bl/B together. The sidelight wire was going to be removed to a switch.

I was going to do it slightly differently and have a single throw, double pole ignition switch so I could just hook everything up as in the wiring diagram.

[Somebody else will be along shortly to confirm or deny the bollox I'm spouting ]

Thanks Guys,

Splicing the Blue/Yellow and Blue/Black seems logical. If you get a moment to check Chris when you're next in the garage it will be much appreciated.

cheers

Jim
