Which Plugs for a BEC

I need to replace the standard spark plugs in the Indy with some new ones. There are two sets available on ebay at the minute, NGK IRIDIUM IX and Splitfire. Which are the best / give any performance advantage? Or do I not waste my money and just buy a normal set?

Thanks Mike

Yes already Geoff! My replacement ZZR1100 D engine is being delivered tonight, so I'm buying parts ready to do the engine swap. Sump, oil filter, plugs etc.

Have bought another hose, samco silicone this time, to cure the leak but won't fit it until I do the engine swap.

Look out anyone in the North East, as I'll be asking for help with the swap, probably the last weekend in January.

Your build going OK?

Cheers Mike

Hi mate, NGK without doubt IMHO.

I was told Splitfires were rebadged american design plugs that didnt sell well there (this is when they first came out) but have improved since then.

I have only ever used iridiums once myself and they made a noticable improvement (this was an Impreza) and thats not something you can normaly say honestly. Id normally say your better off saving your pennies, buy standard and replace them more often, but in this case, they do work.

Ive just got a set for the R1 from eBay. They were £24 including overnight postage try Bright Sparks here

Rgds

Rich

Edited: to say it looks like R1 and ZZR11 ar the same plug, CR9 in standard and CR9EIX in platinum £24, way cheaper than spark-plugs.co.uk

Thanks guys, bought a set off brightsparks.

Feel a bit of a tit really, using a lifeline to "ask the audience" when 100% of people vote one way, you really should know the answer.

Ah well, still not a millionaire.

Cheers Mike
