Which battery is best for BEC
Just wondering what the concensus of opinion is. Sealed or not? (YB or YTX) 12 14 or 16Ah

I'm running the standard equipment R1 Battery Yuasa YTX12BS without any problems (just trickle charge it occasionally in the winter).

Thats the 10Ah one I think. Cant see there being that much more load on it vs the bike.

Yep, Ive got a YTX12 too, and its been fine. I use a £20 Oxford "Oximiser" plugged onto it over the winter, basically a cheaper version of
an Optimate.

Yeh, used Optimates for years and love em. Think I let mine go, Ill have to have another look.
Am I right in thinking the YTX batteries are the sealed ones which come with the pack to start with?

They are sealed as in you cant top them up yep, you get a row of vials with them when you buy it which you inject in and then seal it.
If you're after a battery, speak to Mike Field at MDS Battery, he races in the RGB series so knows all
about whats suitable for a BEC.

yep i would allways go sealed,,make sure you leave the acid to settle in the battery untill its all gone ,well untill you cant see it ,and then seal
it up,takes around four hours before you can seal it up,battery will last twice as long
