Tom, a friend of mine, goes once a year to the main model engineering exhibition, and used to get his ear bent by his missus because of the money he spent. So he got a big jar and started collecting £1 coins.
Now, when the exhibition comes along, he empties out the inch or so of coins into his rucksack - the jar is still mostly full of air - and takes over £200 to the shows! His wife still hasn't worked it out...

My mate Phil has one and he throws his change in when he comes home from the pub, whatever is in his pocket. Last Christmas he had nearly £700 in it he'd have been safer banking it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I reckon about £236.38.

How long did it take to fill it?

I know it takes a good evening to empty the original

how much

Local pub landlord (friend of mine) had an empty 1 gallon whisky bottle when the pound coins first came into being. He didn't like the pound coins at all. Thought they were an abomination. Every time he got one he put it in the whisky bottle. When aked one night what he was going to do with it when full he said give it to charity.
So anyone here want to have a guess how much was in the bottle of pound coins.
