R1 engine numbers
Hi please can someone advise how i can identify an R1 4XV from a 5JJ from a 5PW.
I have asked for the engine number hoping it would say it within this number but it doesn't
The number i have is N503E-000520 and in the haynes manuel it doesnt specify number ranges.
Also can anyone advise what i need to look out for when looking for an engine as im gonna try and sort one this weekend ideally a 5JJ.

Is the 3 digit code stamped on the head on its own or does it prevail the engine number.

Does it have the air injection system mounted between the exhaust ports and the oil filter? If so, it's 2000-01.
