Modifiying R1 can help please essex/suffolk area
Hi got my R1 can now but need to modify it to fit the car.
Anyone know who may be able to help in the essex/suffolk area.
any help gratefully recieved,
also anyone who has had this done before what sort of price am i looking at.

Is that just the can or the manifold ?. Ive got a Quill can on my pinto

What's the o/d of the pipe you want it to fit?, is the can the carbon one or titanium.

it is the carbon can 98/99 model
o/d is 54mm inside 52mm

I've got a jig to make a small adapter pipe, unfortunately it's to slip over 2" o/d pipe

Drill out the end cap rivets (the end with the long inlet pipe).
Remove end cap.
Remove carbon sleeve.
Remove internal flange with long inlet pipe connected to it (you need to unfold the ali lip that's folded over onto the flange).
Take the long pipe and flange to any stainless place and they will cut off the long pipe and weld in a short stub of the correct ID / OD.
Otherwise, try MK Engineering (not MK Cars).
